ReTweet to gain Twitter followers

Filed under: social bookmarking, twitter — admin @ 2:26 pm

A retweet simply means copying someone else tweet and posting it to your own profile. You may wonder why you would want to re-use someone else’s content instead or posting something new of your own, but there are several reasons why retweets are good for businesses.

Firstly, your followers are not the same as the originators followers. You cannot assume everyone has seen it. And if you find it interesting chances are so will your followers. After all, this is the reason they are following you in the first place.

Secondly it saves you time. If the information is already there, there is no point in reinventing the wheel. Use the information that is available.

Thirdly, it builds your reputation. By taking part in the greater twitter community you will soon become a resource that other people wish to follow. By acknowledging other people’s contributions you will show yourself to be a genuine member of the greater twitter comminity.

How to retweet.

Simply copy and paste the other tweet in to your own, but add two additional components. The convetion is to start tour retweet with capital RT, and at the same time add the name of the original tweeter with an @ sign at the front.

For example: RT @littledetails : this is an interesting tweet.

Hiring a successful copy writer for your website will reap search engine rewards

Filed under: SEO — admin @ 6:37 pm

Successful candidates must be: just that; successful. The demands of on-line business mean there are two types of company, those at the top of search engine results, and those elsewhere.

But just what is required to give your web site top search engine rankings? The answer: good quality written content.

Yes it is the number and quality of inbound links that Google and the rest of the search engines rate when deciding which site is number one for any given search term, but how do we entice webmasters to provide links? In the past we simply asked for a link exchange. Link exchange however, for better or worse, is an increasingly difficult way to attract links. It has simply fallen out of favour in the new age of web 2.0 and user generated content.

Give other webmasters something which adds to their own content by providing a vital resource, they will link to your website naturally. People Twitter when they read something interesting. If they StumbleUpon and Digg it they will tell others they have Reddit. In short, hire proven copy writers to produce a unique and Delicious text resource, and the tags, tweets and links will ultimately flow in.

Still using your company name as a keyword?

Filed under: SEO — admin @ 10:25 am

Many web sites have the company name as the main featured keyword on the entire website. It is very common practice for each and every page on a site to have the company name as the first few words in every title tag, followed by a one or two word description of the page.

The simple fact is though, unless your company name happens to be a household name, people are not going to be searching for it. So, for the Microsofts and Nikes of the world, by all means use your company name as the main keyword on your pages. For the rest of us however, it is the products and services your company provides that you must focus on.

The best solution though, has to be forming your company name from some recognised keywords. It is at times like these we wish we had called ourselves Liverpool SEO Web Designs. But alas, we are littledetals.co.uk seo web designs.

Does this mean you should never include your company name as a keyword? We would always advise an about us or similar page on any site with your company name written large, as there will be times when a customer will know of you and search accordingly. But the fact is, it would be quite difficult to design an entire website without reference to the company name. This is one of the searches you will naturally do well in the search engines for.
