An Affiliate Scheme is a way to sell products and services via third party sales leads.
Sales attract a commission paid to the source of the sales lead
(the affiliate), something like an introduction fee.
Commission only sales persons are effectively working as an affiliate sales force.
Affiliate schemes place advertisements on third party websites.
Affiliate advertisements carry a 'tracking code' specific to each individual affiliate.
Clicks usually set a tracking 'cookie' which remembers the affiliate on later
visits to the selling website by the user.
There are several websites which run ad serving programs on behalf of
many different companies. All are free to join. Apply on the ad serving site.
Example ad servers include:
Commission Junction, DoubleClick, Zanox...
Joining the ad server program allows access to many different types of
companies, products and services. Commission from different affiliates
is combined in to one payment account.
Many major international companies advertise through affiliate schemes. A few examples from the from the Zanox network:
Adverts come in all types, shapes and sizes to suit your web pages...
text only links, buttons and banners in any size, full pages, search forms...
You must select the best advertisements to suit the design and content of your web pages,
from the many hundreds of individual advertisements available.
Adverts generally send users to the main sales pages....
Deep linking allow specific and individual product pages to be pre-selected.
This allows highly optimised sales pages on your own website to maximise your revenue.
Commission is generally paid on completed sales, rather than on sales
leads or clicks, a month in arrears.
Payments range for a few pence up to hundreds of pounds for individual sales.
You must meet a minimum monthly amount before payment is released, but
commission is carried over to the next month if minimum is not reached.
Payments can be by cheque, bacs and paypal.
Adsense is Google's affiliate scheme.
With Adsense there is only one version of affiliate code rather than hundreds, although
different shapes and sizes can be selected, and ad units
customised for your website.
Google automatically matches the ads displayed to the content on each
individual page, whatever the page content and keywords.
Ads displayed are therefore very relevant to your users.
Google Adesense main feature: PPC or Pay Per Click!
Each time an Adsense link is clicked, the advertiser pays Google for the
individual click, even if no sale is generated.
A portion of the payment is paid as a commission to the Adsense affiliate.
Individual click commissions range from a few pence to a few pounds.
Don't be tempted to click on your own ads, as Google will ban you from the program!
Adsense affiliates can host a Google search box which pays commission on sponsored link clicks.
Click through rates can be as high as 10 to 20%, making this very profitable for the website owner!
We pay a 10% commission on all sales.
Commissions are paid on all products and services for the lifetime of the customer. Only completed sales attract commissions.
Commissions are paid whether the sale is generated via a website click, phone call, or even personal referrals... provided the affiliate has website links to the scheme.
Apply only via the littledetails.co.uk website.
We pay a £100 commission for each successful mortgage application.
Commissions are paid whether the sale is generated via a website click, phone call, or even personal referrals... provided the affiliate has website links to the scheme.
Apply only via the Dorrington-Commercial.co.uk website.
